A Special Salawaat.
A man came to Sultan Mahmud Sebaktakeen (a brave ruler from the Ghaznavid dynasty of what is present day Afghanistan) and told him about a message from the Holy Prophet (SAWW) who he had seen in a dream.
The man narrated that he had wanted to see the Holy Prophet (SAWW) in his dream for a long time, to tell him of his troubles.
Finally he was given the honor, and he told the Prophet (SAWW) of the debt of 1000 dirhams that he had.
He was afraid that death would overtake him before he could repay it.
The Prophet (SAWW) asked him to go to Sultan Mahmoud and take the money from him.
The man wondered how he would convince the Sultan that he had actually seen the Prophet (SAWW).
The Prophet (SAWW) told him to tell Sultan Mahmoud that he sent 30,000 salawaat on the Prophet (SAWW) every morning and every night.
When the Sultan heard this he knew it was a true message from the Prophet (SAWW) as no-one else knew of it.
He gave the man the money to repay his debt.
The people who were with Sultan Mahmoud were surprised.
How was it possible for him to recite 30,000 salawaat in the morning and 30,000 salawaat at night when they were with him most of the time and did not see him recite so much?
The Sultan explained to them how he had heard from scholars that the following salawaat was equal to 10,000 salawaat.
He recited it 3 times in the morning and 3 times at night.
Thus he received the reward of reciting 60,000 salawaat everyday.
The salawaat is as follows:
O Allah bless our Chief and our Prophet Muhammad and his family so long as the days and nights alternate, and the days and nights follow one another and the sun and moon turn around, and the stars of the North and South Pole meet and send his soul and the souls of his holy family greetings and peace from me.
